Tales of the Cleveland baseball team aim to fall its longtime nickname of”Indians” following the 2021 season captured the interest of outgoing President Donald Trump.
The president, with his favorite medium, Twitter, sent a tweet out late Sunday night criticizing the projected name-change, calling it”Cancel culture on the job!”
A source confirmed to cleveland.com the club will announce this week its intention to play with under precisely the exact same title and pajamas through 2021 but will fall”Indians” following the forthcoming season. A new name hasn’t yet been determined.
Cleveland.com’s Paul Hoynes reports that the title change shouldn’t be a surprise since the group indicated it was possible to occur back in July. On the other hand, the group is moving faster than anticipated.
This isn’t the first time Trump has responded to a title change. Trump also defended the prior Washington nickname with tweets at 2013.
